If you're playing casually or just starting out, nylon is the more practical choice; if you're training or competing seriously, feather shuttles deliver a truer game experience.

Shuttlecock speed needs to be matched to your playing conditions altitude, room temperature, and even humidity all affect how a shuttle flies. A shuttle that flies perfectly at sea level may behave differently at altitude or in a colder hall. Using the correct speed rating for your environment ensures stable, predictable flight, so it's worth checking the recommended conditions on each product page before buying, especially if you're shipping shuttles to a different region of Australia.

Flight rating reflects how consistent and true the shuttle's trajectory is during play, while durability rating reflects how well it holds up to repeated, high-impact hits before the feathers or skirt start to break down. Most of our shuttlecocks are sold per tube of 12. How long a tube lasts depends heavily on playing intensity and shuttle type feather shuttles used in aggressive, high-level training or matches may need replacing every game or two, while nylon shuttles used for casual or recreational play can last considerably longer. If you train frequently, it's worth stocking up on multiple tubes to avoid running short mid-session.
