Choosing the right badminton racquet is the most important equipment decision a player can make. Every variable in the frame - weight, balance point, shaft flex, and grip size - shapes what you can and cannot do on court. At NP Sports, our badminton collection spans 43 racquets across four world-class brands, filterable by player level, weight, grip size, and balance point.

Yonex is the global benchmark in badminton equipment and the most trusted name on the professional circuit. Our Yonex range suits every playing level, from the developing intermediate to the competitive club player. Pair your Yonex racquet with the right badminton shoes and badminton accessories to complete your setup.

Li-Ning Badminton Racquets

Li-Ning carries serious international credentials, and the Li-Ning Halbertec series is the standout of our collection. For players who favour an attacking, fast-paced game, the Li-Ning Axforce series delivers blistering speed in a lightweight carbon fibre frame. Carry your gear in our range of badminton bags.

Flypower and NP Sports Racquets

The Flypower range is built for club players and recreational enthusiasts who want a reliable, well-built racquet without spending at the premium end. Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I choose the right badminton racquet for my skill level?

Your racquet choice depends on weight, balance point, and shaft flex. Beginners generally benefit from a lighter, head-light or even-balance racquet with a flexible shaft, as it's more forgiving and easier to control. Intermediate and advanced players who generate their own power often prefer head-heavy racquets with a stiffer shaft for maximum smash potential. Use our filters for Player Level, Weight, and Balance Point to narrow down options that suit your game.

2. What's the difference between Yonex, Li-Ning, Flypower, and NP Sports racquets?

Yonex is the most widely used brand on the professional circuit, offering racquets across every level from intermediate to elite competition. Li-Ning brings strong international pedigree, with the Halbertec series suited to balanced, all-court players and the AXForce series built for fast, attacking play. Flypower offers reliable, well-built racquets for club and recreational players at a more accessible price point, while our NP Sports range is designed as a lightweight, forgiving entry point for players just starting out.

3. What do the grip size codes (G4, G5, G6) mean?

Grip size refers to the circumference of the racquet handle; a smaller number means a thicker grip. G4 is Small-Medium, G5 is Small, and G6 (where available) is typically the smallest standard size. Most adult players use G4 or G5; if you're unsure, you can always build up a thinner grip with overgrip tape, but it's harder to go the other way.

4. What does racquet weight (4U, 3U, 5U) actually affect?

Racquet weight is labelled using a U-system, where a higher number means a lighter racquet for example, 5U is lighter than 4U, which is lighter than 3U. Lighter racquets (4U/5U) offer faster swing speed and are easier to manoeuvre at the net, making them popular with doubles and all-court players. Heavier racquets (3U) carry more momentum through the swing, which can translate into more smash power for players with the technique to generate it.

5. Do racquets come pre-strung, and can I choose my own tension?

Some racquets on our site come strung at a standard tension, while others are sold unstrung so you can have them custom-strung to your preferred tension and string type. Check the individual product page for stringing details, and feel free to contact us if you'd like a recommendation on tension based on your playing style.
